Legal
Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 July 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing the Veriadd API or console you agree to these terms. If you are using the API on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Permitted use
You may use the Veriadd API solely for lawful address and identity verification purposes within Nigeria. Prohibited uses include: re-selling raw API responses without value-add processing; attempting to reverse-engineer identity records; using the API for surveillance or unauthorised profiling; exceeding fair-use rate limits with automated tooling.
3. API keys
API keys are credentials. You are responsible for keeping them secret. Do not commit keys to version control or expose them in client-side code. Report compromised keys immediately to security@veriadd.tech. We reserve the right to revoke keys that violate these terms.
4. Billing
L1 (postcode validity) requests are free. L2 and L3 verification requests are billed per-call from a prepaid Naira wallet. Wallet credits are non-refundable once consumed. Top-ups via Paystack are processed immediately; disputed top-up transactions must be raised within 14 days.
5. Data and compliance
You are the data controller for personal data submitted to the API. You warrant that you have a lawful basis for processing each data subject's information under NDPR. Veriadd acts as a data processor. Detailed obligations are set out in our Data Processing Addendum (DPA) available on request.
6. Uptime and SLA
We target 99.9% monthly API availability. Scheduled maintenance will be announced ≥24 hours in advance on the status page. We are not liable for service interruptions caused by upstream providers (NIPOST, Dojah, Paystack).
7. Liability
The Veriadd API returns probabilistic verification results — not legal proof of identity or address. You must not use API responses as the sole basis for regulatory decisions without independent review where required by law. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 3 months preceding any claim.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved by arbitration in Lagos under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
9. Changes
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice published at veriadd.tech/terms. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
